"Tides of Furry"

In the North Atlantic the seas are a living creature; and often having bad temper. It was the untamed month of February, I believe in 1993; a hurricane had come from the tropics and had stomped up the East coast of the United States. Her winds brought enormous effects on the sleeping monster. We were somewhere off the coast of Maine and the swells were expanding.
The cold air made it hard to breathe and the winds would pierce a human body and stir his bones. The skies became a colorless grey and water sprays started to mesh with the air. -Everyone was moving inside now as the ship began to take some solid hits. One could feel the awesome waves lift the entire ship. For a brief moment everyone anticipated the drop. The smack of the hull fighting the seas would shake the frame and your heart with in. Rumors flew, a tanker off the coast had been swallowed by the mad oceans. Men were uneasy for our destination was the dreaded Halifax.
Time crept on and the battle increased. The bow of the ship would often be submerged by the raving waters. It felt as though the devil was pulling the ship down to hell. If ever men believed in the next life, twas now as they prayed for deliverance.
